Testimonial:
My name is Elaine and American Exteriors did my windows. They did them in February. From the time that the representative came out to place the order to the time that they measured and installed was a very reasonable time. The young man that came out, there were two of them, to install the windows – they were very professional and to me they were quick and I have no problem with the way they installed the windows. They did it very well and I could tell the difference right away, in the drafts in the windows, it’s just not there that we had before. The ventilation in the house now in the summertime is much better. The house stays cooler and I notice that even in the short time that I had them during the winter and even now the house is warmer.
Sitting in the wintertime, you can feel more of the cold than when you are gone for 8 hours or more a day that I just decided that I needed to do that, I needed to get windows, so…
If you are in the market to buy windows, do it! Because the sooner you do it the more energy you will save whether its winter or summer on the air conditioning. It helps keep the heat out and in the winter it helps keep the heat in. Because those old windows, I had them, this house is 45 years old and I had never got windows before so it’s made a tremendous difference in the heating bill. Of course, I got a new furnace too.
When my brother came to visit, he goes, ‘oh you got new windows’! I mean, that’s the first thing he said when he walked in the door. So they could see a difference on the outlook of the front of the house. How much nicer it looked! And they were inquiring, how was it, have you had them in the winter time yet? They wanted to know how the windows were working.
We don’t get the sun in that window anyway so he isn’t freezing his butt off in the winter anymore. There was frost inside the window and it would be wet so he would touch it and now he loves that window, that’s his spot where he watches everything.

My husband and I feel very fortunate in coming across American Exteriors. Our experience with this company has been such a positive. My husband was very stressed about our next project for the house; replacing our nine windows. He was feeling anxious and frustrated about finding the time to get our windows completed. American Exteriors happened to come along at the right time relieving my husband of this project; assuring him of a quality product and timely installation. We were very excited about our opportunity for new windows and discussing this with Andrew Brougham-Marketing Director. Working with Andrew made our decision easy; choosing American Exteriors. Once the decision was made my husband and I were ecstatic about what these new windows were going to bring to our home. Since the windows are manufactured here in Colorado, the windows were ready much sooner than expected. Scott installed eight of our windows in about seven hours; wow! I had a full house; my daughters, niece and nephew. We did the best we could to stay out of his way. This did not affect Scott.During the installation Andrew stopped by to see how everything was going. I was so happy to see those old windows go I realized that our windows were missing the prairie grids that we ordered. The company took full responsibility of the mistake; I see why this company is BBB accredited. It was so refreshing working with a company that value their customers, having great customer service. John Sullivan –General Manager gave us options in order to fix the error that we felt completely satisfied with, hence the ninth window. This window installation was done in no time. My husband and I have been completely satisfied and will continue to have American Exteriors install our basement windows when we are ready for that project.
We have noticed many benefits since our windows have been installed; energy efficient windows keeping the heat off of the windows during those hot summer days, double strength glass which gives us some extra security, no more traffic noise; some quiet from our very busy street and the look of our house inside and out; beautiful. My husband is sooo happy about our new windows, that when we go to Home Depot he takes me to the windows section to show me how their quality does not even compare.
Thank You American Exteriors,
Melissa and Luis Martinez

Congratulations to Tia and Steve Ferrell. As entrants in the 2011 American Exteriors Sweepstakes, the Ferrells were among the 4,779 participants who expressed interest in replacing their existing windows with an energy efficient custom manufactured window from American Exteriors. Participants had many opportunities to enter the drawing through out the year. From web site submission to submitting forms at home and trade shows, we received a number of entries for the drawing and even more interest in our products and how they can assist in reducing heating and cooling costs of the home.
With a retail value of $15,000 the Ferrell family will certainly enjoy the benefits of energy efficient products from American Exteriors.
Let them tell you in their own words:
American Exteriors,
Thank you for installing the new windows in our home. It was the best single major purchase we have ever made. You said we would save up to 40% on our heating and cooling bills. We have cut our cooling bill in half compared to last year despite the current heat wave we are experiencing. We tend to be quite skeptical, but you more than proved what you covered in your presentation. Our only complaint comes from our kittty; there are no more hot spots for him to sun himself in anymore! Light comes in; heat stays out. In years past, if it got hot out, we would sometimes have to sleep in the basement; now we can sleep upstairs. We can actually keep our blinds and curtains open when we want, and not have to worry about feeling like we are living in an oven. Your installers were friendly and took the time to show us each window and ensure that we were happy with the installation of each one. They answered our questions and showed us how to operate the very simple locking and tilt-in cleaning mechanisms. We only wish we would have had you install our windows years earlier. Thanks again, American Exteriors! The Ferrell Family (and kitty, Sheldon)

Removing a window sash on a double hung window can be a simple process with proper instruction. American Exteriors reviews the correct method to replace and remove a double hung window.
American Exteriors has long held that homeowner reviews on our products and processes are the key to improving on our customer experience. When we complete a project with a homeowner we ask that they give us feedback on their entire experience with American Exteriors. We read these reviews and use them to determine is each project meets the American Exteriors standard. We love getting reviews, not just the positive but also feedback which facilitate improvement for our company. Of course we love the positive reviews as well which highlight the benefits of our windows.
Over the past several years, we had though of getting new windows many times. We obviously needed new windows as our house was built in 19300and still had the original windows with the weights in the walls. Our house was hot in the summer and cold in the winter and our heating and cooling bills were through the roof. Every winter we struggled with the mess and hassle of putting plastic coverings on our windows, which helped only slightly. That’s when we got smart and decided to look seriously into replacing our windows. We had looked at other companies, but soon came to find that the quality was not comparable to American Exteriors.
Alex, the Marketing Director, came to our house and was very impressed by his professional and passion for his job. He was also very knowledgeable. He explained in detail how the windows were manufactured, the benefits of upgrading, and how the windows would pay for themselves. He was also very patient with us and our three dogs during his presentation!
Financing was a breeze. We were so relieved to have American Exteriors help us finance our windows and that our payment would be affordable. Scheduling the windows went great. We had a scheduled time that we were actually able to move up when the windows came in early. We had our windows installed on a cold day in February and we could actually feel the house was getting warmer as each window was being put in. We were very impressed withGary’s knowledge and expertise. HE answered all our questions and stayed late on the second day to get the job done. We had several pairs of single hung windows that were turned into one wider slider window that we can now actually open! He patched the trim very well and this change made the house look so much bigger! Also the trim work on the outside of the house was flawless.
All in all, we are very impressed with American Exteriors and would highly recommend them to anyone considering replacing their windows. Alex and Gary were very professional and knowledgeable. We have been very impressed with the finished product. We have already seen our energy bills decrease by almost ½ and have gotten many compliments on the windows!

American Exteriors LLC teaches you the proper way to open and close your energy efficient replacement window.
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Steve with American Exteriors LLC – industry leading Window and Siding manufacturer. We wanted to take a moment to demonstrate to you how to properly open and close your window. So I’m going to do that here. This is a double hung window, quite simply the first thing you are going to do is unlock both of your locks, grab the sash on the bottom on this fingerboard here go ahead and raise it straight up. Pretty simple -that’s open and we are going to do just the opposite to come down and close it. Now make sure you come straight down, reengage both locks, so that’s securely fastened. When closing the window there are a few things you want to be aware of to make sure that it does close properly. A lot of time you have furniture, maybe a desk, this could be over a kitchen sink where you have to reach out and extend your arms a little bit to close it. You want to keep in mind, make note that you want to go straight down when you close it. So you want to be on top of the sash, come straight down and then lock it.
What you would want to avoid is pulling the sash out towards yourself. So, very common, is for someone to grab it, they are using their muscles to pull toward them and the window does not want to shut quite right all the way and you will have trouble getting it locked. So again, straight down, the locks engage smoothly.
If the window is not properly seated and fastened correctly you may get drafts between the top sash or the fixed portion and your bottom sash. When the bottom sash is seated correctly and everything is in place as it should be the locks should be very easy to lock and/or unlock. You should never have to slam a window or put excessive force on it to get it to close. If the window is engaged properly it should be effortless to engage the locks.
Searching online for the topic window screen safety you will find many articles related to the hazard screens can pose to child safety. Each year, according to the information found on these websites, hundreds of children are injured from falling out of screens that they are leaning on. Pet owners also bemoan the fact that their pets can push out the screens and escape. According to the cautions issued by many window manufacturers, the purpose of the screens is to act as an insect repellents and are not strong enough to withstand the force children or pets can place upon them.
What can you do to ensure the safety of your children as well as pets? There are many sites that have advice in dealing with the situation. Here are a few that are common:
This is very good, simple, practical advice to assist in keeping children safe.
With 23 days until 2012, homeowners are studying the housing market to answer the question, will 2012 will be the turning point? According to the information provided by The Standard and Poors Housing Index we may be on the right track.
That would make NOW a great time to look into the top 2012 Home Improvement trends.
Why is now such a great time to do so? Home buyers are now looking for a place to settle. With the data of the past 5 years of the housing market in focus, home buyers for the 2012 season are no longer looking simply for investment properties. The idea of buying a home just to “flip it” does not have the same economical value of say 10 years ago.
Homeowners looking to sell recognize that with so many new homes on the market, making home improvements allows older homes to be competitive in today’s housing market. Manufactures recognize that with such a “buyers market”, the demand for goods and services associated with home improvement are steadily on the rise. Whether you fall into the category of making home improvements for maintenance purposes, to improve the aesthetics and environment of your home or to increase the overall value of your home, there are many factors to consider before deciding on a course of action.
Here are two important factors to keep in mind when deciding what 2012 improvements to make on your home.
1. Your neighborhoods median value – whether you choose to stay in the home or sell in the future, upgrading your home past the neighborhood median value will make it far more difficult for you to sell your home.
2. R.O.I. dollars – do your research to determine what 2012 home improvements have the best return on your investment.
Here are a few according to Realtor Mag 2010-2011 cost vs. value analysis:
1. Entry Door Replacement
Cost recouped: 102.1%
2. Garage Door Replacement
Cost recouped: 83.9%
3. Siding Replacement
Cost recouped: 80.0%
